FEEDBACK FROM GALINA'S GUESTS
Galina is a wonderful person . . . warm, hospitable, welcoming, accommodating, caring, helpful, and probably very well-informed for her guests' questions and needs while in Moscow.
It felt like home, and I noticed even other guests treating the home and Galina with much respect . . . very safe . . . I left all my belongings there and nothing was ever touched that I know of. It felt safe and secure -- taking reasonable precautions, of course.
I met new friends with whom I went out to do things. We had good times sitting there in the dorm room, people sharing food and their experiences.
It is a wonderful place. It is SO affordable!!
The only glitches were hauling my huge,heavy travel bag up the five flights' of stairs; the flat is old and could use some heavy cleaning, though every day Galina does the basics. I am used to camping out, so it was okay, but for example, there are a few kitchen areas which could use some cleaning, the old teas discarded, and maybe some cleaning supplies (fresh ones) available for guests to use on the tub, sinks, etc.
She has such a big heart, and understands and speaks English well, so she is a great resource and I felt very comfortable being there.

Regarding Galina: She is a wonderful and helpful
person. She has some good recommendations for sights,
foods, supermarkets, usage of trains. Sergey, who now
is on your website as a driver, is very helpful -
sometimes insisting on carrying guests bags up the
stairs. His English is broken, but he carries a
Russian-English dictionary with him and really tries
to learn and help. Their apartment is located near
the Lithuanian Embassy. From outside the building
looks "scary" for a westerner, but is a typical Soviet
style apartment. Inside is small, smokey and
friendly. The guests all get a long fine. She has
one room with 2 beds and another room with one bunk
and three separate beds. It is a tight fit. There is
a very small shared kitchen and a small shared
bathroom. The cats were not a problem. The apartment
is a 15 minute walk from the Kremlin. Great value if
all you want is a bed. The social aspect of Galina's
is basically none existent.
