Back to Rooms and Homestays in Moscow
Fighting kids, all sorts of animals, including an overactive little canary, bikes. You have been warned. But despite many agents of chaos the apartment is clean and orderly, and your host Snejana (Anna) is the rare sociable type with not a trace of anything annoying in or about her. Even an old grouch like me is able to spend time in her company. Tushino district, northwest end of Moscow, 30 min. walk or a short bus ride to either Metro Tushinskaya or Skhodnenskaya, very close to the Sheremetyevo airport. Lots of water and parks nearby. 20Euro/night single, 25/night double,120/week, 400Euro/month. Snejana will be happy to be your guide around Moscow in exchange for a chance to practice her already passable English. Especially if you bring her Belgian dark chocolate. The place is very close to the Tushinskaya inter-city bus station from where you can easily get to my dacha near Staritsa, Tver region. Pets and children are, naturally, welcomed in this household.

Always copy to me when writing to Snejana becaue she often is off-line for a few days in a row but regularly in touch with me via telephone. I also tend to know about the availability of her room.
Summer is the best time to take this offer. The kids are off to the dacha. Often you will be left alone in the apartment while paying just for the room!
Scroll down for the old but still mostly valid description.
Homestay with Snejana & kids in Tushino, by the Moskva-Volga Canal, Metro Tushinksaya or Skhodnenskaya.
Snejana, Zlata (7), and Alexander (4) is lots of noise and energy, creativity and a bit of destructivity .. NO OR MINIMAL NUMBER OF CHILDREN MAY 1-10 AND MOST OF THE SUMMER... Active travelers, cyclists, skiers, skaters, horse riders, explorers. Stay with them for a full immersion experience. To find peace chose a quieter place, eg. a room from Snejana's mother.
This room is normally empty and can be availed to guests. Lots of sun. Ask for curtains! And to have the ticking clock removed!
Yes, you can use this Internet-wired computer.

Tushino is a bicycle friendly area. And yes, you are welcomed to borrow Snejana's bike - the most comfortable vehicle of the kind I've ever ridden. This photos, made in late March or early April, when things are at their gloomiest, is placed here to serve as a disclaimer. Yes, Moscow can be quite ugly when grass and foliage, or snow, are not there to disguise reality.

Yes, you can borrow these bikes.
(Another host that has bicycles and allows guests to use them is Alls & Sophie from Metro Vodny Stadion. And, of course, my apartment comes equipped with a bicycle.)
From my mailbox:
Dear Pacha,
Snejana asked me to write my impression after my stay at her home. All that I can say is that she is a very very nice person, I hope she will have a nice memory of me. I found her place very pleasant, the only 'problem' is that the place is quite away from the center of Moscow and that it takes long
to reach the center from her place. It might be a little bit difficult first to find the place when some people dont know Moscow, so it is a good advice to have her phone tel in case it would be too difficult for some people to get to her appartement. I found the suburb where she lives much more pleasant than i had imagined before my first day at her appartement. I hope some day I could return to visit her.
Best wishes,
Eric
